Kansas Marriage Records

Kansas marriage records can be ordered from the state’s Department of Health and the Environment. The Department retains copies of records dating from May 1, 1913. Marriage records can also be ordered from commercial websites which can provide this information to consumers for a fee.

Marriage licenses are filed with the County Clerk of the District Court in the county where the license was issued. Once a month, the District Court forwards the collected licensed to the Office of Vital Statistics. Certified copies of marriage records may be ordered from the Office of Vital Statistics a couple of months after the marriage was performed.

Fee to Order Kansas Marriage Records
The fee to order Kansas marriage records is $15.00 for the first copy of a record. Each additional copy costs $15.00 as well. This amount covers the cost of a five-year search of the Department of Health’s records.
